Golden Axe - one of the super classic arcade game published in 1990 by Sega.

If someone asked me what I consider to be the greatest classic arcade, it would be just this game. The game doesn't come with great sound effect, but it has wonderful VGA graphics which popped everyone's eyes out back in 90s.
At the beginning of the game you can choose between three characters: a human woman, a man and a dwarf with Axe (interesting combination). These characters differ from each other fairly minimal, as all known martial arts as well as magic, the only difference among them is in speed of attack and power of magic - which would depend on the mana you collected.

Each character has its own unique special attack, well - they are actually different animation, but all do the same and damage all enemies that are on the screen. But it's still an extremely fun game even if we are only able to choose the same character again and again

This game involves deep depth and complexity, the official guide book was half the size of the NY phone book back then, which was a blizzard. Even with today's standard, the graphics still look pretty amazing and detailed. It is known as the best game of its kind and certainly one of the best among the series.
